HOW FAR ARE YOU WILLING TO TRUST YOUR ENEMY…

…especially when your entire race is on your heels?
The conflict between the Psy and Changeling races is escalating – no surprise when the animalistic Changelings value freedom and life above all else, while the ice-cold Psy despise emotion and recognise only ruthless logic.
The fragile truce means nothing to the Psy Council anymore, not when the Council has its true goal within reach: to control all Psy, destroy individuality, and create a single giant mental hive mind that it can rule. But key figures are finally entering the game – the most important character in the Council's secret plan is Ashaya Aleine, a Psy scientist tasked with creating implants that the Council would use to enslave her race.
But Ashaya has a secret of her own: beneath the mask of a perfect Psy, she is planning her escape with the most precious thing in the world to her – her son. The Psy world, however, has long since abandoned family bonds, and for Ashaya to succeed, she has only one option – to entrust herself and her son to a leopard Changeling who hates the Psy more than anything else…
In the fifth instalment of the Psy-Changeling series, Nalini Singh skillfully blends – as always – paranormal romance with elements of a thriller. With each new novel, she gradually fleshes out and adds depth to her original world, where all the characters are just pieces on a board of much larger plans. And it's definitely worth following their future fates!
