Cat's footprint

Homicide detectives must dig into their memories, pore over dusty notes

Homicide detectives have just solved the murder of a van driver for a well-known tobacco company.
The joy of the successful action is overshadowed by the shame the perpetrators have cast on the entire police force. Despite the awkward feelings, there is a relaxed atmosphere in the Hundred and Forty-one office, but only until the head of the department sends Krauz and Chosé to investigate Livia's murder.
The discovery that Livia is in fact a cat is surprising, but the connection and connection to an old friend is literally terrifying.
From the depths of the past, Hilda Wolf, a stone-faced psychologist with a strictly rational mind, a cold-blooded monster whom Burger and Hanzel suspect of murdering young boys, has resurfaced from a series stretching back to the days of socialism.
And to make matters worse, on the same day, the 13-year-old son of a senior civil servant is kidnapped on his way home from school. He's kidnapped just steps away from Hilda's house, which none of the detectives consider to be mere coincidence. The previously prominent Golden Triangle district suddenly becomes a devil's triangle, where boys disappear like on a treadmill. Homicide detectives have to dig into their memories, to leaf through dusty notes, confront old knowledge with new, they have to do everything they can, to solve the mystery, otherwise they will carry the burden of the past with them for years to come.

Dominik Danish

Dominik Dán is the pseudonym of the author of the most successful Slovak detective novels. A criminal whose identity is known only to his immediate family, his publisher and his colleagues. He successfully guards it for professional reasons as well.
Although his work is monothematic and the cases are always solved by detectives from the Homicide Unit of the Our Town Police Department, each book is specific, written from a different point of view and the cases take place in different time periods.
The author has also collaborated on the script of the crime series The Old Town and his novel The Red Captain has been made into a film.
