Čechomor, Kandráčovci: Kandráčomor (Live) - CD

Čechomor and Kandráčovci toured together this year, and apart from thousands of enthusiastic spectators, the result is this live recording made in the environment of the castle garden in Telč. The two bands merged several times during the concert into one energetic unit. The songs recorded on the album were written or re-arranged uniquely for this tour. There is also a joint song Kandráčomor, which the Czechoslovak musical union has already made visible through a video. Martina Pártlová, a regular guest at the concerts of Čechomor, sings in several songs. The Czech part of the tour will be followed by the Slovak part next year.

The band Cechomor was formed in 1988. It gained its fans and the respect of critics mainly through its imaginative arrangements and distinctive interpretation of music based on folk songs. The year 2001 was a breakthrough year for Čechomor, when they won three Anděl awards (for the band of the year, for the album Proměny and for the song of the same name). The extremely popular Slovak group Kandráčovci was founded in 2004 by the primate Ondrej Kandráč from Krásná Lúka. Its members are former musicians from various folklore ensembles. The Kandráčov family is the only one in Slovakia to have won the Platinum record for folk music, four times in total (A čija to chyža, Sinu muj, Oj, zabava).
