Černochová Tereza: Scratch - CD

After seven years since the release of her debut album Small Monstrosities, Tereza Černochová comes in 2015 with a new album that introduces her as a singer with a distinctive style, but also as a co-writer of songs that have matured and evolved over several years. The album Škrábnutí was produced by Roman Holý and unlike his solo debut, which was composed of cover versions in English, Škrábnutí contains, with one honourable exception, the original repertoire in Czech.

The music was shared by Tereza, Roman Holý and Jiří Hutárek, with whom Tereza has been working together on the first musical ideas for the album since 2010. Lenka Dusilová and her brother Marek also contributed their lyrics, Alena Rytířová, Dan Barta, or Monkey Bussines' court lyricist Vratislav Šlapák.

Tereza Černochová sends her new song to the world as a mature singer. There is tenderness, mystery and a kind of exciting darkness in her voice, an insight, but also a musician's playfulness. This cocktail of seemingly disparate ingredients mixes fantastically, and not only in the title song, which director Vladimír Michálek chose for his new film Pohádkář.

Škrábnutí (Scratch) is a reference to the song of the same name, Škrábnutí, which the world does not know about, sung with lyrics by Zdeněk Borovec years ago by Karel Černoch. His daughter magically delivers the same text, slightly modified into a female statement, in Roman Holý's composition. He is the author or co-author of most of the songs, is the producer of the album and the main backing musician, programming the basics, playing synthesizers, but also on guitar or fretless bass, which helps the album to create a specific melancholic mood.

The musical line-up was completed by Jiří Hutárek, Tomáš Koudelka and Ondřej Smeykal on didgeridoo.

The candy of the album is a cover of the song Andělé by the legendary 80s band Dr. Max, which fits into the album as if it was composed right now and just for Tereza Černochová.
