Czech demonology
A dozen terrible haunts of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia
We all know them. Since time immemorial. From a young age. We used to meet them in the woods, in castles and castles and maybe even at home under the bed. Scarecrows. It has been in the Czech lands for as long as our ancestors can remember, and perhaps even longer. And although modern fairy tales have transformed them into often cute forms, they were originally fierce, vengeful and bloodthirsty creatures. Why is it not worth answering a heckler's hoot, what forms can a hawk take, and who should definitely avoid the icebox? These and other questions will be answered by a unique overview of twelve Czech haunts. The author Jan Kravčík drew from hundreds of Czech and German written tales, the book was embellished with impressive pictures by Latvian illustrator Līga Kļaviņa-Raiska.

They wrote about the book:
The volume, as slim as it is lovely (which is to say very), is luxuriously illustrated, printed on quality paper and bound. In addition to the text part, the author, with his own meticulousness, has also added an overview of the basic literature for those interested in original folklore, which shows that he has been interested in the subject for a long time. Jan Kravčík respects folk demonology, tells specific stories sensitively, leaving them with a horror, which he spices up here and there - like saffron - with light humour."
