Chankishou: Lé La - CD

The band Čankišou was founded by originally big beat musicians at a Christmas party in 1999. Using a variety of instruments from all over the world, they delved into the completely new waters of ethno and world music, originally basing their work on the legend of the ancient one-legged Čanki people.

The band has carved out a solid place for itself in the musical sun and is now one of the top names in Czech world music. The seven-member band Čankišou is one of the most distinctive Czech bands, not least thanks to its unmistakable singer, Karel Heřman. Their music, with its rhythmic storm, will get anyone dancing, and thanks to the universal language of the Čanki people, it is well-received all over the world. With their fusion of various ethnic influences on a rock foundation and a rich collection of exotic instruments, Čankišou have travelled the world from the island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean to Pakistan.
