Cherry Don: Brown Rice Ltd Clr

LP Record The iconic jazz musician Don Cherry, who passed away in 1995, did the world a great deal of good. And I don't just mean his children, Eagle-Eye Cherry and Neneh Cherry, but also his magnificent albums that oscillated between jazz and world music. Even if "Brown Rice" were the trumpeter's only contribution to jazz, his place in the pantheon would still be secure today. The 1975 album is a bold piece of psychedelic jazz-rock, incorporating elements of blues and funk, as well as African, Indian, and Middle Eastern influences. Newly remastered, with sleeve notes by the renowned jazz author Stanley Crouch.
