Chronicle of a Sinful Priest

What is happening in the women's quarters of Kateřina Bechyňová at Karlštejn Castle? Are the reports of torture and murder of serving girls true? Why does her husband Jan Bechyně, the Karlštejn burgrave and one of the most high-ranking men in the kingdom, flee from her to Prague? Václav Hájek of Libočany, the dean at Karlštejn, decides to find out. The case ends up in court, where it drags on for several years. Will Hájek gather enough evidence to prove the murders? And can he even win the case when the Bechyněs are among the king's favourites? Will justice prevail, or will politicking win the day?
