Cicvárek Ivo & Oko: V letadle - CD

The music presented on the album by Ivo Cicvárek a Oko is based on their core live sound, in which each musician plays several different instruments: Ivo Cicvárek (piano, guitar, vocals), Petra Klementová (various flutes, piano, vocals), Jana Havlová (cello, saxophone, vocals).

Oko's foundational sound combinations were joined in the studio by other interesting guests: singer-songwriter Žofie Kabelková (vocals), the vocal group Mošny (backing vocals), jazz trumpeter Hubert Ratschker (flugelhorn, trumpet), as well as some musicians from the instrumental group Šoulet (formerly K+K Band): Martin Krajíček (mandolin), Stanislav Palúch (violin) and Jaroslav Panuš (double bass). The album does not feature classic drums or percussion instruments, which gives the recording a more chamber-like feel without sacrificing expressive dynamics or sonically dense, rhythmic passages. The resulting form is still that of a singer-songwriter; the song structure of most of the tracks, as well as the emphasis on the album's lyrical content, are essential to the composition of the whole. The exclusive author of the music and lyrics on the album is the singer-songwriter Ivo Cicvárek.
