Cimbalom music Technik: Pěsničky z Jasenné - CD

Anna Kutějová played amateur theater, sewed local costumes, and took care of maintaining folk dances and ceremonial customs. She helped preserve almost five hundred songs, which were then recorded in writing by her nephew Jan Rokyta. She died in 1964, at 71, but songs, which she could for many decades they became part of the repertoire of Cimbalom Music Technik, with which great folklore personalities such as Jarmila Šuláková and Josef Laža sang. Anna Kutějová née Rokytová lived practically her whole life in Jasenná near Vizovice. It was completely ingrained in Wallachian culture: I learned to sing from my father and my mother; they both sang nicely, they were very singing. From the morning of God there has been singing, both pious and worldly, as it has slipped from the mouth. So I grew up in that. Jan Rokyta was born in Jasenná in 1938. Anna Kutějová had a great deal of credit for becoming one of the greatest personalities of Moravian folklore: Her aunt knew well, so she felt with her heart that, like her treasure trove, she had to pass it on again. And the honor of being another of the links in this human and song chain came to me. Technician is a bit of a strange name for dulcimer music, but it is related to the time and place of origin - in 1958, when Rokyta studied at the University of Mining in Ostrava. In the end, he did not become a mining engineer: was a musician, radio editor and tireless promoter of folk music, he led the dulcimer until his death in 2012. Rokyt' s sons Jan and Pavel, who are also behind the preparation of this album, continue to bear the family legacy. In addition to the songs, we will also hear Anna Kutějová' s story here.
