The life stories of six generations of the Humberto family depict the moving fates of people for whom the circus ring became their destiny. Whether they were taming lions, putting up the tent, performing artistic acts, or cooking food for the others, they all had to cope with something on their circus tours around the world. Lost love, homesickness, the bitter disappointment of their own failure. And the same realisation was important for all of them: that family and a true home are not made of a cottage, but of the people they live with.

The series features 162 actors from numerous countries, several dozen circus artists and trainers, 6,830 extras, 422 musicians, and, of course, a great many circus animals. The filming took two years.
