Citizen Kane - DVD

Orson Welles' masterpiece (1. place on the American Film Institute's list of the best American films) released on its 70th anniversary. It's a magnificent spectacle, perfectly acted (by many members of Welles' Mercury Players company early in their successful film careers) and directed with incredible visual flair. Oscar winner® for Best Original Screenplay (1941) chronicles the tumultuous life of a powerful media mogul, focusing particularly on themes of power, corruption and vanity - the American dream lost in the mystery of a dying man's last words: "A down. ”
