Concept Art Orchestra: Adult Christmas - CD

The previous album of the leading Czech jazz big band "Concept Art Orchestra" won the Anděl Award in 2015 in the jazz album of the year category.

The album entitled "The Prague Six" contained compositions by six young composers, key figures on the Czech jazz scene - big band conductor and trumpeter Štěpánka Balcarová, saxophonist Luboš Soukup, pianists Vít Křišťan, Martin Brunner and Tomáš Sýkora and trombonist Jan Jirucha Jr. The same authors' association is also behind the novelty called "An Adult Christmas".

For the project of progressively arranged Christmas carols and songs loosely inspired by Christmas (for example, based on poems by Jan Skácel or Fráni Šrámek), which has already been performed in concert several times, the orchestra invited singers Dan Bárta, Markéta Foukalová and Milan Cimfe. The common denominator of all the tracks is Christmas, but this is not a classic "seasonal" record that only has a chance to be played at the Christmas tree - the album is completely timeless and can be enjoyed throughout the year.
