Criminal

Gabriela Slováková, the former director of the women's prison in Světlá nad Sázavou, reveals stories of darkness, naivety and foolishness, but also hope and the power of a hand extended. How does a woman get on the slant? Why does a multiple-loving mother go to jail? How will this continue to affect her family? Is a remedy possible? The book offers not only a glimpse into the souls of women under sentence, but also into how the Czech prison and probation service works.
