Czech and Serbian phraseology

The monograph presents the most detailed comparative analysis of contemporary Czech and Serbian phraseology to date. In the confrontational overview, attention is paid to phrases at all three formal levels: lexical, collocational and propositional. The thesis describes the individual properties of phrasemes and the problems of their classification, and theoretically compares the approaches to phraseology on the Czech and Serbian sides. Practical issues of phraseographic practice are addressed on the basis of the first Czech-Serbian phraseological dictionary, which is based on the rich material of somatisms in both languages and which forms the second part of this book.
