Deadpool (Blu-ray)

Before he became Deadpool, he was Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds), a former Special Forces operative. When doctors diagnosed him with terminal cancer, he underwent an experimental treatment as part of the Weapon X programme, known and popular primarily among the X-Men mutants.

Thanks to this, Wade got rid of his cancer, and not only did he stay alive, but he also gained the bonus ability of rapid self-healing. Unfortunately, however—unlike Wolverine, for example, who remained quite sexy after a similar treatment—he emerged from this experiment permanently disfigured. In his own words, he looks like “an avocado had sex with an older, more disgusting avocado.” This is also why he adopted the costumed alter ego of Deadpool with relatively little resistance.
