Death plays backgammon

When Tadeáš of Příhrazy is accused of causing the death of Vnislav of Vyskere, a young nobleman from a neighbouring estate, through the negligent administration of his territory where a gang of ruthless bandits has taken root, he decides to act. Together with Jozífek, the commander of the castle garrison, he throws himself into the investigation. He is determined to do everything in his power to clear his name and save his family's honour. Soon, however, it becomes clear that the situation is far more complicated... New facts emerge, and with them, new suspicions. Just when it seems he has the culprit within his grasp, another crime is committed. Tadeáš finds himself back at the very beginning of the investigation, once again reinforcing his belief that it is unwise to trust anyone, beautiful women included.
