Demon of the East End

The first book in the steampunk fantasy series, In Service of the Crown

Great Britain is plunged into the whirlwind of the Industrial Revolution. The streets are teeming with various steam-powered machines created by mad scientists, but also with things much darker—supernatural beings. And it is these that the Kelby siblings fight—investigators in the service of Queen Victoria.

After successfully closing one case, a new, even more complex one opens up before them. They are tasked with investigating strange deaths in the districts of the Victorian metropolis, which at first glance have no motive or connection. The heroes grapple with courtly intrigues, treacherous inventions, and supernatural phenomena, as well as their own problems and pasts. In the dark alleys, they uncover secret conspiracies and the limits of their own abilities.
