Dire Straits: Making Movies Num Ltd

LP Record This third album by Dire Straits was recorded in 1980 at the Power Station studio in New York. Along with "Tunnel of Love" and "Romeo and Juliet", it features two of the band's most popular songs. In total, "Making Movies" has been certified 6x gold and 7x platinum internationally. David Knopfler left Dire Straits during the recording of their third album, "Making Movies", due to differing opinions on the division of roles within the band. He felt restricted by his brother Mark and his own song contributions were not being heard. David's departure coincided with Mark Knopfler's ambition to further develop his songwriting skills – which, fortunately, he succeeded in doing.
