Disappearing

How to get away from the hectic life? Don't exist! If the village of Nincshof ceased to exist for the outside world, its inhabitants could live in peace and escape the hectic modern age. Together with the free-spirited old lady Erna, the three village men make plans to achieve this. When the Austrian village of Nincshof ceases to exist for the outside world, its inhabitants will be able to live in peace, away from the hectic modernity. At least that is the intention of the three men, who are united by the conviction "Everything used to be better in Nincshof. Before, the people of Nincshof were still free." They are wondering how to achieve this desired freedom, and they think of an eighty-year-old free-thinking lady, Erna, who is involved in their plan. The first visit may not go well, but Erna is a person open to everything and together they begin to take steps that will end in the complete oblivion of the village by the outside world. Signs with their names are disappearing from the streets, the harvest festival is cancelled, the local football team has to be relegated to the lower league. "Forgetting is not violence," they proclaim when someone argues that they are acting against the Austrian constitution, which does not allow the secession of any of their own territory. Everything seems to be going smoothly. But only until the wildebeest and their breeders appear in the village.
