Disneyband: Touha City - CD

Touha City, the CD by Liberec duo Disneyband, builds on the powerful expression and captivating delivery of their previous album, Opilí potměchutí (Drunk on Aftertastes). The album is very diverse in genre. It features fourteen songs ranging from quiet chansons to folk-rock, pop, Latin, and even funk and rock.

If not for one song by Pavel Havlík, Martin Kadlec could be considered the sole author of both the music and lyrics. More elaborate arrangements provide maximum support for the character of the songs. The sound of the album Touha City is fuller, more colourful, and overall feels more balanced and airy. It was recorded at Honza Friedl's studio in Vyšší Brod, with Friedl and Vláďa Čížek handling the sound engineering.

For the first time, Michal Kadlec, the leader of the band Jarret, took on the role of music producer and arranger, inviting his bandmates to the recording sessions. Honza Noha is on the drums, Marek Štulír plays the bass, and Michal Kadlec recorded various types of guitars. The album also features guest appearances from Marek Ottl (trombone, piano, keyboards), Jindřich Zíka (trumpet), Martin Roubínek (drums), and a string quintet consisting of Marcela Ottlová, Lenočka Doubová, and Jan B. Novotný. The album's title is a play on words; the lyrics are mainly about feelings and desires, about eroticism, and the fact that combining these two words (Touha City) creates a city full of desire is more of a coincidence.
