Coastal sailing captain Master Pierre Servan Malo Antifer, who at the age of forty-six lives in retirement in Saint-Malo, has one big problem. He owns, from his father Thomas Antifer, a deed with the latitude (24 degrees and 37 minutes) of a certain island, on which huge wealth is supposedly stored. The document is signed by Kalmyk Pasha, who bequeathed his treasure to Master Antifer' s father because he saved him in 1799 during the mass massacre of prisoners ordered by Napoleon Bonaparte after the conquest of Jaffa.
Master Antifer has been impatiently waiting for years for someone to tell him the longitude needed to find the island. However, neither his family nor his friend Gildas Tregomain believe that Master Antifer will ever learn the longitude. There, the notary Ben Omar from Alexandria visits him and tries to extract from him the latitude of the treasure island. If he fails, he has to come out with the truth. He is the executor of Kalmyk Pasha' s will, which includes the long-awaited information - 54 degrees and 57 minutes east longitude.
With the help of new information, Master Antifer discovers that the place where he will find his treasure is in the Strait of Hormuz off the coast of Muscat. The adventure can begin. Will Master Antifer find his dream treasure or not?
