Doctor, talk to me.
Medicine in Czechia is top-notch, and the healthcare system is functional. However, the biggest ailment of our healthcare seems to be poor relationships and insufficient communication between patients
and doctors. The former feel that healthcare professionals speak to them carelessly and insensitively, while the latter are under pressure, overworked, and often lack the time or energy for an empathetic conversation, especially if the patient is aggressive and tests the limits of the doctor's patience in various ways.
Ten respected doctors from different specialisations express their views on the aspects of the patient–doctor relationship and other topics in medical ethics in interviews with journalist Ivana Karásková. All these prominent personalities share an interest in medical ethics and a wealth of experience, which they are able to share with wisdom and gentle humour.
