Dog Island - DVD

The Japanese archipelago, twenty years from now. Dog flu has reached epidemic proportions, its epicentre in Megasaki City. It threatens to jump from canine carriers to humans. Mayor Kobayashi calls for an immediate quarantine – the exile and isolation of all stray and domestic dogs. By official decree, a nearby island, currently used as a rubbish dump, becomes the canine exile colony. It becomes the Isle of Dogs.
Six months later, a single-engine, miniature Junior-Turbo Prop aeroplane crash-lands on this desolate dump. A pack of five hungry and feral dogs discovers the twelve-year-old pilot in the wreckage. It's Atari, an orphan in the care of none other than Mayor Kobayashi. With the help of his new canine friends, Atari begins to search for his lost dog, Spots, and in doing so, gradually uncovers a conspiracy to eliminate all dogs from Megasaki City.
