Double Breath

Fišmeister’s ninth collection once again shares characteristics with his previous ones: “it is shy, intimate, trusting and open to the pure vision of children and God’s fools” (J. E. Frič), and knows how to draw the reader into the author’s distinctive world. Once again, it brings a lyricist in epic form and an epicist in lyricism; once again, Miroslav Fišmeister reveals himself as an author of small yet pregnantly precise poetic incisions, as that proverbial “virtuoso of playful restlessness”.
