Duke Ellington: Money Jungle Ltd Clr

LP Record “A triumvirate, not a trio,” writes George Wein in the CD's liner notes. “This combination makes the album one of the greatest piano trios in jazz history,” it continues. Reviews: “Mingus, Roach, and Ellington move as if in a competition, they clinch with one another, swinging, driving, searching. Charles Mingus and Max Roach, two striking personalities, open up another dimension of Duke Ellington's pianistic abilities in this recording.” (ndr.de) The unlikely trio of Duke Ellington, Charles Mingus and Max Roach created this classic in 1962.
