Dumb Girl

The fourth instalment in the series about police psychologist Sebastian Bergman.

Over the Easter holidays, a family with two young boys is brutally murdered. Sebastian Bergman and his team discover that there was most likely a witness to the tragedy. It is ten-year-old Nicole, who was visiting her cousins at the time. The police suspect she is hiding in the forest. The girl has been missing for three days and her chances of survival in the wilderness are slim. The police therefore decide to ask the public for help, even though this may alert the murderer to the witness's presence.
Bergman manages to track the girl down and a special bond forms between them. However, Nicole is deeply traumatised and does not speak, only draws pictures. Sebastian Bergman starts working with her and finds that she reminds him more and more of his own daughter, whom he lost. Can he protect the girl from the murderer?
All six instalments of the series featuring the protagonist psychologist Sebastian Bergman published so far have sold 5 million copies worldwide. ZDF television, in cooperation with Sweden's SVT, has produced a popular television adaptation.
