Dún an Doras: Rua - CD

For their third album, Dún an Doras, one of the leading bands in contemporary Celtic music, recorded eight vocal and five instrumental tracks.

The songs feature the outstanding voice of Káťa García, while the instrumentals are danceable and imaginatively arranged. The tracks are built on the rhythmic, almost jazz-like, inventive guitar playing of Petr Košumberský, supported by double bassist Filip Klinecký. The flute of Radvan Markus and the fiddle of Dan Malczyk weave through the melodies in modern arrangements.

The band's characteristic, unconventional sound is rounded off by Jakub Severin on tabla and djembe. The core line-up is complemented by excellent guests: Luboš Malina on five-string banjo, Marek Poledna on diatonic harmonica, and Kristina Volná on bodhrán. The album features both calm, heartfelt ballads and wild, rhythmically pulsating reels and jigs.
