E-bike for wheelchairs after spinal cord damage

Do you like cycling? Imagine that you suddenly could not move your legs and everything that came to you automatically until then is a big problem. Not to mention cycling!

People in wheelchairs have similar feelings. But even if it seems unbelievable, there is a possibility to go on such a trip. Wheelchair users can use a specially modified bike, which is called a handbike. Instead of legs, they control him with their hands. It' s hard work, but the freedom of movement, a ride through nature with friends, family or just like that is worth it. And since “walkers“ often and often use e-bikes today, there is also a handbike with a special electric treatment for wheelchair users. We would like to buy one such electric handbike for the Paraple Center. It will serve wheelchair users directly in the Paraple Center and during activities outside it.

Centrum Paraple is a non-profit company founded by Zdeněk Svěrák and the civic association Svap paraplegiků. Since 1994, it has helped people paralyzed after spinal cord injury to adapt to a new life situation, improve their physical and mental condition, achieve the greatest possible degree of self-sufficiency and independence, return to their natural environment and gain the preconditions for social and employment. We are a support not only during the first months in a new situation, but at any time during life. We are based on the belief that people can live their lives to the fullest and with value after spinal cord injury.
