Eli

Can they rewrite their story together?

It was supposed to be a story about loss, fear and survival. But then he met him. And suddenly it was all about him. About Eli.

Sometimes it seems to Nathaniel that where he should have had a soul, there is a devastated world. Drugs take him to places from which it's hard to return, but if it weren't for them, he'd have to relive every bad experience. Dad left him. Mom died. And then everything went to hell very quickly.

Elkan doesn't live, he's been surviving for the last few years. He spends most nights in his room, playing one PlayStation game after another. He can't sleep because sleep brings with it nightmares that tear him apart.

There is a certain fatefulness in the fact that Nathaniel and Elkan have met again after all these years. They can help each other and pull themselves up from the bottom, or they can sink even deeper together. Can these two guys rewrite their story and turn it into a new beginning?

Nathaniel is one of my most beloved boys, although he can be very obnoxious and self-destructive. But it all stems from how lonely and sad he is. Despite his difficult fate, he has a great determination to fight for a better life.
— Klára Pospíšilová on writing Nathaniel

I spent hours with this guy on the couch playing one game after another on the playstation while sipping herbal tea. I fell in love with his experience, his often silent struggle with the pain he felt, and last but not least, the way he saw Nathaniel.
— Eva Pospíšilová on writing Elkan

I'll always choose you. From the moment my hands found you in the middle of that burst of despair while I was falling like a house of cards, or maybe even much earlier. When Dad said he met you at the gas station. Or maybe even earlier. When you came to see me in the hospital when you were a kid. Or maybe even earlier.

Our souls agreed on this before either of us was born.
