Elpida

Elpida (translated as Greek for “hope“) is the name of an organization that has been helping seniors remain a confident and respected part of society since 2002. Implements 5 large long-term projects:

• Educational and cultural centers for active seniors from all over Prague full of courses, seminars, lectures, creative workshops, trips, etc. - Elpida Center in Prague 4 and Port 7 in Prague 7.
• Free telephone crisis line for seniors 800 200 007 for seniors and caregivers in a difficult situation, which is in operation for 8-20 hours. 365 days a year.
• Social quarterly Vital providing quality reading and sober insight into current topics.
• OLD´S COOL - unique intergenerational projects and cultural events which, in the spirit of the Old is Cool motto, have long strived for a positive perception of seniors and old age in our society.
• Grandma' s Socks - Over 200 knitters knit original socks from donated wool. By selling them, we support the knitters' grandmothers and the operation of the Elpida Center for other seniors.
