The Seniors' Line is a free anonymous telephone help for seniors and carers for the elderly. Many have been living in constant fear since the spring, without family visits and friendly gatherings. Another state of emergency only exacerbates the fears and uncertainties they have. The staff of the Seniors' Line, which are psychologists and social workers, support them at critical moments, listen to them and seek solutions to difficult situations together with them. Together with the Scouts, they help seniors to arrange the delivery of purchases or medicines.

Every day, the Seniors' Line will help dozens of callers. In the spring of the emergency alone, she received nearly 9,000 calls helping to overcome the crisis and fear of closing a company. All its staff willingly accepted the increase in work duties in the spring and today, knowing that it is necessary to help our older fellow citizens more than ever.
Therefore, they turn to you with a request. Help cover the increased costs of double operation of the Line.
Collaboration with Junák - Czech Scout
Senior Line staff receive help requests from seniors across the country, and adult Boy and Girl Scouts can sign up to help specific people around them with a simple web application. Volunteers have a verified identity - they are only members of the organization Junák - Czech Scout. We already know from spring experience that they are great and reliable partners who have received a lot of praise and thank-you e-mails and phone calls.

KATEŘINA BOHATÁ is a psychologist who dedicated the whole 18 years to the Line of Seniors, whom she was involved in and which she now leads. She is a capable manager, which can ensure the perfect operation of the Seniors' Line even in unusual situations under a huge influx of callers, to teach lead and continuously train a team, came up with improvements, which will help those who need. She is the co-author of the professional methodological publication Changes in Crisis Intervention for Crisis Line Workplaces and Workplaces, published in 2019.
