Engagement Too Long - DVD

Audrey Tautou stars in this French-American drama set during World War I.

The year is 1919. Mathilde is nineteen years old. Two years ago, her fiancé Manech went to the front in the Somme and, like many others, was killed "in the field of honour". At least that's what the official announcement says. But Mathilda refuses to believe. She is sure that if Manech had died, she would have felt it.
Guided by her intuition, she clings to the last spark of hope that connects her to her lover. The former sergeant's attempts to convince her that Manech died in the trenches in "no man's land" along with four other men are futile. Mathilde's journey is full of pitfalls and obstacles, but she is not afraid of them. Anything is possible for those who have the courage to face their destiny.
