Ensoi: Waters Rings - LP

The band Ensoi is made up of singer Tereza Kopecká and drummer Martin Čech, who are known for their work in other musical groups and their collaboration on musical projects of various genres. The Ensoi project was born in 2019 in Brno. Through their work together, compositions began to emerge, which gradually, without clear previous ideas or stylistic givens, naturally evolved into a distinctive style, where the main creative source is feelings and reactions to specific experiences and life situations. This creates an album of atmospheric-poetic positions and moods, in which the compositions form a narrative band connected into an impressive whole, moving in electronics positions, downtempo, ambient, nu-jazz and is a combination of acoustic instruments and electronics, in which the surfaces of synth instruments intertwine, keyboards and modified sound effects with imaginative live rhythms and sensitive vocals. The lyrics are in English and partly in Spanish, which enhances the emotionality of the expression and the overall mood. Martin Čech is behind the drums, music and production and Tereza Kopecká is behind the vocals, lyrics and musical motifs. The title of the album "Water rings" is a simile of the propagation of waves, as carriers of information transmitted, permeating different dimensions and returning again. They can be perceived and worked with or ignored, but they cannot be avoided. The creative process by which the songs were created is referenced by the band's name itself - Ensoi, which is the meaning of "existence", in and of itself. The album was mostly recorded and mixed in the background of the home studio and also in cooperation with Roman Kašník in Reset studio in Brno, where the mastering and final analogue sound colouration was done.
