Euroradio Jazz Orchestra: In Prague - CD

Euroradio Jazz Orchestra is a unique international music ensemble with a long tradition, whose modern history has been influenced in a key way by Czech Radio.

Since 2014, one of the European radio stations has always taken care of the ensemble, and the radios change their care once a year. In 2014, Czech Radio, in cooperation with the organisers of JazzFest Brno, took over responsibility for the orchestra's operation for the first time in history. The orchestra, based on the coordinating support of the media companies associated in the EBU, was renamed the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra and in this form we have the opportunity to meet it for the first time on the album In Prague. The band performed under the direction of Jan Jirucha Jr. and performed compositions by Jiruch, Štěpánka Balcarová and one composition by a Romanian composer. Trombonist Štěpán Janoušek was another Czech member of the orchestra.
