Evanescence: Fallen

LP Record Amy Lee's vocals take on a new dimension when she's accompanied only by a piano (My Immortal). The songs are either dark and deeply atmospheric, beautifully textured with keyboards, strings, and layered backing vocals, or they are sharp and crunchy, but both approaches elevate the music to a new level. The sound of the record as a whole is captivating and ethereal, getting better with every listen. It's an album of consistent quality that is incredibly compelling. The production is denser, warmer, and fuller than almost anything I've heard before. For a debut, it's certainly more than a solid start.
