Everest - DVD

Based on true events

Everest, directed by Baltasar Kormákur, recounts one of the most tragic expeditions, where the majestic massif sent a chilling warning to its challengers. The story is set in the mid-1990s when the Himalayas are becoming a popular tourist destination. Eight-thousanders are no longer climbed just by experienced mountaineers; instead, entire processions of adventurers from around the world are drawn to them.

Mountain guides Rob Hall (Jason Clarke) and Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhaal) are leaving nothing to chance. They only accept seasoned climbers for their expedition to the highest point on Earth. Everyone is well-prepared and equipped, and nothing should stand in the way of their clients' dreams. However, a small deviation from the plan and a sudden change in the weather is all it takes for the key question, "Can we conquer the mountain?" to be replaced by a much more fundamental one: "Can we survive?"
