It's been a long time since seven-year-old Dolly spent any time with her dad. So when he tells her that they are going on a big adventure together, she is over the moon. They'll finally be together again! The first day on the road is incredibly exciting. Every stop is a new experience for Dolly - milkshakes, shopping, an amusement park and lots of junk food she's otherwise not allowed to eat. Plus, for the first time, she has her dad all to herself...
But as they travel further and further south, the father becomes moody, paranoid, and sometimes a little scary. The fun is gone, home is far away and Dolly is not sure if she will ever come back...
