Excel 2007

Calculations are at the heart of Excel, which is an integral part of Microsoft Office. It doesn't matter too much which area you use Excel in. We could find many examples from corporate environments, but don't be afraid to use Excel at home. In the context of Excess, you will undoubtedly think of company financial data such as revenue and cost analyses, number of products sold, financial balance sheet, but also project budgets, billing systems, maintaining a database of employees, financial analysis in the field of lending, investments, etc. Even in private, you'll find opportunities where Excel comes in handy: keeping a household budget, planning holiday expenses or building a house, but also sports tables, lottery or dice roll simulations, temperature charts. Get the book if you want to make friends with Excel quickly and effectively, using practical examples without too much technical explanation. Basically no expertise is required, yet you have the chance to reach your goal very soon without having to work with spreadsheets before. All you need is basic computer skills, knowledge of the topic, the calculations you want to perform, and most importantly, the desire to work. In the introduction of the book, you will learn what Excel looks like and how to work with it. We will also summarise the new general procedures for controlling programs from the Microsoft Office suite of programs, that the 2007 version brings. You will learn, what a cell is, Table, letter, workbook and how to work with the file. Cells are used to process data, so the description then focuses on what data is processed in Excel, how to perform calculations on it using formulas and functions, and also offers a more detailed description of selected functions. The appearance of tables is an equally important topic not only to make the tables look nice, but also to highlight important data, to distinguish input data from results. Of course, the use of colour schemes and formulas is a must to keep the appearance of the table consistent. In addition to the data, the workbooks also include graphs that are generated from the processed data and the results of individual calculation operations. We look at the most commonly used chart types and focus on what data each chart type is suitable for. A pie chart is very difficult to show a time trend, while a bar chart is not suitable for expressing the size of the share of certain parts in the whole. Printing and distribution of the files is the final stage of data processing. Finally, we will focus on a specific topic, namely how databases can be processed in Excel. Excel can perform basic database operations, the database dimensions are sufficient in Excel, so if you don't have any special wishes, you don't have to buy a special database program and you can get by with Excel.
