The Lambarene Expedition was an adventure undertaken by eight students and graduates from Prague universities. In a silver Tatra 138, they transported pharmaceuticals and medical supplies through five European and thirteen African countries to the renowned hospital of Dr. Albert Schweitzer in Lambaréné, Gabon.
The journey began on 1st January 1968 from the Old Town Square, and the arc covered by the Tatra over its 256-day trip spanned more than 35000km. Upon their return, the filmed material was turned into an 18-part series for Czech Television, which you can now watch on 3 DVDs, complete with additional bonus features.
