Familiar
A mystical tale from Renaissance Madrid. From the author of the bestselling Six of Crows series.
In a rundown house in the middle of Madrid, the servant girl Luzia Cotado uses scraps of magic to get through her days of endless drudgery. When her hidden abilities are discovered, Luzia is thrown into a world of seers, holy men and charlatans, where everyone is looking out for their own interests. The only one who can help her is Guillén Santángel, a familiar whose duty is to bring his master good fortune. However, his secrets are even more terrifying than hers, and it soon becomes clear that ending up in the clutches of the Inquisition might not be the worst thing that could happen to Luzia.
