Family Council
The audiobook Family Council, author Petr Jarchovský, narrated by Lucie Juřičková.
FAMILY AS A MIRROR TO THE WORLD – CRACKED, BUT STILL WHOLE
The narrator Alena, the ex-wife of one of the brothers, uses family events to portray the world we see around us today, a world where parents behave like immature children and their children try to take on adult roles. Will Alena be able to prevent an all-out war within the family? Will things be said that can't be taken back? Can the departure of a loved one ultimately lead to forgiveness for the wrongs we inflict on each other? In her gripping, ironically tinged, yet compassionate narrative, Alena attempts to describe her struggle to preserve family ties, the most important thing we have in this world. At the same time, she incidentally paints a self-portrait of a type of woman thanks to whom our cracked world is still holding together…
