Father of the piglets

Jingle bells, jingle bells, who took your voice?

The Feast of the Pig Watch is approaching and everyone is eagerly awaiting the Father of Pigs with a bag of presents. But the earthly counterpart of Santa Claus has disappeared somewhere. Could the Assassin's Guild, which had accepted a generous contract from the mysterious Auditors to eliminate him and sent the deadly but utterly insane Mr. Chasnacaj to do so, have anything to do with it? In the spirit of solidarity that reigns among anthropomorphic personifications, Death decides to take the place of the fat man. HO HO HO! But neither the red and white costume nor the fake beard can hide the fact that he is not the ideal candidate for the job. He takes children's wishes too literally... Perhaps his granddaughter Zuzana - who is helped by a raven with an eye defect, Death the rat and the god of hangovers - will manage to track down and rescue the missing Father of Pigs before the most popular holiday of the year turns into a complete disaster!
This audiobook is part of the series of stories about Death in the AMAZING EARTH series. The first ever geographical novel to be adapted into a feature film (2006, r. Vadim Jean), generously gifts you not only with traditionally intelligent humour, but also with a deep reflection on the role of mythical creatures and myths in our lives.

Terry Pratchett

(1948-2015) The British writer's literary talent was already evident at the age of 13, when his short story The Hades Business (1963) was published in the school magazine. He studied art, history and English, and then began to study journalism, which he did not complete because he accepted an offer to work as a journalist. Gradually he worked in several editorial offices of regional and national newspapers, at the beginning of the 1980s he became a spokesman for an electricity company and since 1987 he has been devoting himself entirely to writing. His first book, The Cobblers, was published in 1971, but an important turning point in his career was the publication of the novel The Colour of Magic from the Amazing Earth series - others followed and the series grew to more than thirty books (his work was translated into Czech by Jan Kantůrek). In 1990, he co-wrote with Neil Gaiman the humorous story of the birth of the Antichrist, Good Omens (1990, Czech: 1997). In 1998, the Queen of England awarded him the Order of the British Empire for his literary achievements and "service to literature".
