Fifty - Blu-ray

What happens in the mountains, stays in the mountains, and down below they can do what they want. The real spice of the Krkonoše Mountains are the local highlanders who live here, whatever the season. A one-legged skier, a snowcat driver who doesn't drink on Three Kings' Day, a legendary womaniser blessed with infertility, a barman with a penchant for fortune-telling.

And also Pavka, the oldest living member of the traditional Bulán family of cross-country skiers. After all, his father broke a pole during a fifty-kilometre race and still finished eleventh, and Pavka had his own son born on Sněžka mountain at a high altitude so that he would oxygenate faster.

But it's his son Jura who's causing him grief. Instead of cross-country skiing, he's chasing a completely different kind of 50. He's addicted to seducing mature women, chasing the frost from their souls. Jan Hilský arrives for the race, which Jura probably won't finish again, with his mother. Besides aiming for a great time, he has a personal goal of his own. To achieve it, he heads "up"—into the snowy world of mountain chalets. There, he will set off an avalanche of events and memories, and last but not least, he will learn how to spit through the fog.
