Fitzgerald, Ella, Armstrong Louis: Ella And Louis - LP
The collaboration between Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong has attracted much attention over the years. Both artists were well-known icons not only in the fields of large band, jazz and swing music, but in 20th century popular music in general.
The two African American musicians together created three official editions in Ella and Louis (1956), Ella and Louis Again (1957) and Porgy and Bess (1959). Each issue has earned both commercial and critical success. Songs related to these albums have also appeared in various forms in multi-artist collections and other similar records.
As for the tour, after the success of his first album, Fitzgerald reunited with Armstrong to hold a series of concerts in a Hollywood bowl. The duo' s music proved popular with live audiences. Two live tracks from these 1956 concerts would eventually be released in the 1990s as bonus material for the album.
