Flamengo: Chicken in the Clock - LP

Following on from the big CD chart phenomenon in March (in the IFPI ČR sales chart for several weeks, peaking at no. 2) comes the vinyl reissue of Kuře v hodinkách! One of the seminal albums in Czech rock history is celebrating its fortieth anniversary this year, and this anniversary vinyl is both a thank you and a gift to its creators and fans.

Messrs Fořt, Khunt, Kubík, Kulhánek, Mišík and Šedivý recorded songs with a significant contribution from lyricist Josef Kainar, produced by Hynek Žalčík and with musical direction by Jan Spálený. The powerful magic of this big beat monolith still works today.

This LP contains the nine original tracks. It is packaged in a gatefold cardboard sleeve, using the original artwork but – in a new design by Karel Haloun – also supplementing the older LP release with the complete lyrics and photographs by Hana Rysová, taken for the intended 1972 cover. However, that cover was banned by the powers that be at the time due to the musicians' excessively long hair. This set of images is therefore appearing in its complete form for the first time.
