Flowers, with their varied shapes and beautiful colours, are a great inspiration for the visual arts. For centuries they have been used as a decorative element by sculptors and painters, various craftsmen and ordinary people who used them to decorate their homes or clothing. In the new part of the Skilful Hands series we offer you some ideas for making flowers from traditional but also quite unusual materials. Traditional ones include various types of paper, coloured textile ribbons, silk or ceramic clay. New are wooden twigs and corn husks, beautiful natural materials that are easy to process and result in very original floral decorations.
