Foal of gold
Love and Death in Great Moravia in the Summer of the Lord 906
A story set in the 10th century. The girl Milana rescues a foal that was to be sacrificed and flees her native Moravia to unknown Bohemia. A historical fantasy in which rusalky, watermen, forest people and Kotys, the mare goddess of summer, play a big role.
Even in the 10th century there were people who loved animals. Or at least some of them, like the main character of the story, a girl named Milana. She felt so sorry for the foal, which was to be sacrificed to the pagan gods, that she saved his life, even though it meant fleeing her home country of Moravia for the unknown Bohemia. Besides people and horses, fairies, rusalky, watermen, forest people and especially the mysterious Kotys, the goddess of summer, play an important role here. All of them help Milana on her adventurous journey, during which she can save her life but also meet her true love. The author proves in the story, that you can combine the early Middle Ages, paganism, the beginnings of Christianity in our territory, elements of fantasy and a love of horses, and guarantees, that you'd enjoy a story like this very much.
