Forest Chronicles 2: The Smurf Trap
A forest still life? And you didn't fall out of the pine tree? This is a comedy treeler!
Even the police in the forest of talking animals are supposed to help and protect, but it is as infested with woodworm as everywhere else. Although her hard-working cadets Zajíc and Vydra do what they see in the eyes of the commander in their desire to become constables, Lieutenant Bachyně is swarming the office. She acts on her own - and has been a bit of a pig since her husband Kňour disappeared. And yet there is hard snooping required! It's not just that someone's robbing the common stock. First of all, the heir to the throne, Koloušek, who was supposed to head the local monarchy in order to continue the order of the ruling family of Jelen, is missing. However, these are strongly against the big animal's wishes, so the drama escalates. What role will a photo trap, a monster with a double trail and a conscientious tunneling play in it? Just wait, Hare! And watch your coat, Vydra!
The second trip into the forest full of treachery is set in the time before the birth of the searcher Mole. They would have appreciated a Bruce Willis hit here back then!
For children from 8 to 88 years old.
"The culturedly written story carries mystery on every line. The Chronicle of the Forest is a "forest" pandanus of Vojtěch Matocha's comparatively captivating and city-oriented cycle Prašina." - Reflex
"What do I appreciate about this book? A sophisticated plot (...), suspense, humour, colour, well-developed characters and the author's highly original writing style. The story is not just for children, but also for adults, who want to go back to the world of adventure for a while, tension and humor." - Book Addicts
"An excellent mystery with animals, that we know in some form mostly from the first book, she's as exciting as a little trencle: full of twists and turns, fights, double-crosses and collusion." - from reader reviews on databazeknih.cz
He rolled onto his side and grumped gruffly. He was unable to regain his strength, although he had been cleaning the iron trap long into the night. He didn't want to drag her down to the basement before, so he left her lying on the newspaper in the living room. To get into all the folds and joints, he opened it up again and lubricated it thoroughly. He was still checking on the wolf in the morning and going through the new images from the photo trap. He printed them out again on the old printer and stared at them in disbelief. An otter, a hare, a hen harrier: what kind of circus is this? He wiped his eyes, refilled his glass. Is that sow really wearing a hat and a bag around her neck? - excerpt from the text
