Frang Vilde: Paganini, Schubert - CD

In many respects, the composers Nicolo Paganini and Franz Schubert lived very different lives and their reception by the public was also different. While Paganini enjoyed dizzying success during his lifetime, Schubert did not receive real recognition until long after his death. The work of the two composers is just as different, yet there are certain points of contact, such as a shared fascination with the human voice and its possibilities. The Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang has taken this connection as her own and decided to show both composers through a somewhat reversed lens than usual, i.e. Schubert through his lyrical virtuosity and Paganini through his (often unexpected) sensitivity and singing.
